The Conference “Improving Academic Standards in Education – ISE Conference” was held on the 29-30 October 2015, in Tbilisi, Georgia, within the framework of the TEMPUS project “Project Actors Capacity Training in Caucasus”. The Conference has been an important dissemination event for the project and represented a general conclusion of the project achievements and accomplishments.
David Tvildiani Medical University was the main organizing body of the event, supported by eucen as partner in charge of the dissemination, and by all project partners.
The conference was opened by Dr. Levan Tvildiani, rector of DTMU. Dr. Levan welcomed the public and briefly discussed the importance of the project for the south Caucasus countries and for capacity building in universities.
The main keynote speakers were Veriko Mirtskhulava (M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D. TADR Test & Evaluation Lead, Biological Threat Reduction Program, Branch of Battelle Memorial Institute in Georgia), Tata Lordkipanidze (National Erasmus+ Office of Georgia - “EU Programs in Georgia”) and Holger Bienzle, die Berater.
EU PACT project partners talked about the opportunities for the most effective realization and use of the project outputs by Caucasus partner countries, while Caucasian partner institutions presented their vision for the future development of the educational program and shared their own experience of the project implementation and exploitation.
On the second day of the Conference, a poster presentation session took place, with a total of 17 projects developed during the PACT training piloting process presented by the trainees.
