David Tvildiani Medical University (formerly called as AIETI Medical School up to 2011) was established in 1991 and enrolled first students in 1992-1993 academic year. It is one of the first non-governmental higher medical education institutions in Georgia. It has AIETI Medical School – providing MD undergraduate program, Public Health School and Postgraduate studies – PhD educational programs in Health and Biomedicine. DTMU is included into the WHO AVICENNA Directory for Medicine-BETA and into FAIMER International Medical Education Directory. It is a member of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE), Organization for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System (ORPHEUS) and Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS).

The two campuses of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Eisenstadt and Pinkafeld are centrally situated in the heart of modern Europe, thus offering unique intercultural learning opportunities at tertiary level. Students can choose between eight bachelor´s and twelve master´s degree programmes in five core competence fields:

  • Energy and Environmental Management

We place special emphasis on incorporating international aspects into our programmes. It is especially important to us to offer courses focusing on Central and Eastern Europe as they show great promise for the future.

We also offer students cross-border courses, research and development opportunities, advisory services and further education courses with over 70 partner universities and approximately 400 enterprises all over Europe.

die Berater ® is an adult educational provider in Austria founded in 1998. We offer trainings, courses, and seminars on a variety of topics interesting to adults in higher education: from soft skills trainings to language courses and webinars about information technologies. Now within the PACT-project we are also offering training in “project development” and “project management”. Around 20.000 people participate in die Berater®’s programmes each year.

SAN is a private University situated in the third biggest city in Poland. SAN was established by the Association of Polish Educators in January 1995. Currently there are ca. 20 thousand students enrolled in the Academy. SAN offers PhD, MA and BA studies, post-graduate courses as well as specialized training courses on daily, evening and weekend and extramural basis. SAN  is also very active in scientific research, organisation of national and international conferences and publishing scientific book.

The University is very experienced in involvement in EU educational programme since 2005 as a coordinator and partner. Since 2005 at the University exist Fundraising Department ( 4 persons permanent staff), which is responsible for creation and management of EU projects. Since 2005 the Department was dealing with 62 projects from different EU programs.

EUCEN is an international non-governmental not-for-profit association founded in 1991 and registered under Belgian law. It currently has 185 members in 34 countries, all actively committed to and involved in the development of University Lifelong Learning (ULLL). It includes 17 national networks for University Continuing Education/ULLL in Europe and 8 associations concerned with the education of adults.

EUCEN has a wide experience in managing and participating in transnational projects. The main role of EUCEN in PACT project is connected to dissemination.

The Gavar State University is the only higher educational public institution in Gegharkunik Marz, which carries out educational programs in natural and social sciences.

The University provides higher education in two levels – Bachelor and Master. The education is organized in accordance with the principles of the ECTS credit system. There are the following faculties at the University: Philology, Natural Sciences, the Humanities, Economics, and Part-time education. Management of the University is carried out by the University Council, the Academic Council, the Rector’s Board, and the Faculty Councils. The University has 14 chairs with professional academic staffs. Gavar State University holds annual scientific conferences, and publishes materials of the conferences every year.

The University has the following structural subdivisions:  Academic Policy Department, Quality Assurance Department, Public Relations and Information Department (PR @ IT Department), and Computer Service Department.

The library and the reading hall of the University serve not only to the University students and lecturers, but also the region’s population.

Yerevan State University was established in 1919. Currently more than 19.500 students study at 19 Faculties of Armenian Alma Mater  
YSU is one of the leaders of education internationalization in Armenia. Currently it has more than 240 cooperation agreements with international partners – universities and research centres - all over the world. 
Besides bilateral interuniversity cooperation, more than 50 international research grants are implemented at YSU annually. YSU is a consortium-member university in the Erasmus-Mundus External Cooperation. YSU is also actively involved in EU funded TEMPUS program. In recent years YSU implemented various TEMPUS projects in such fields as university management, internationalization and quality assurance, developed and updated programs and curricula.

Established 01 September 1919, Baku State University (BSU) is the oldest and biggest university in Azerbaijan.

Currently BSU has 17 faculties with nearly 16.000 undergraduate students. Today, Baku state University offers students 17 majors with 55 bachelor and 153 master degrees. BSU’s staff – more than 3000 professors, lecturers and technical personnel.

Baku State University continuously works to expand its international presence and cooperation. Today, BSU is a member of the authoritative associations such as Association of Universities of Eurasia, Black Sea Universities Network and Association of Universities of Caspian Sea States.

BSU intends to step up its cooperation with the international educational institutions and organizations and large international network with 207 signed Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements of Cooperation.

University of Georgia - GE

The University of Georgia (UG) is the high-ranking, accredited private higher educational institution in Tbilisi, Georgia founded in 2004 by two women professors.

It is the first higher educational institution in the country to receive funding from the overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) for the aim of improvement of its infrastructure and bringing it in conformity with modern standards. The UG has set up laboratories, a library, IT rooms, a simulation courtroom and a hospital to create a comfortable learning environment where students are able to gain theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills. Over 4500 students are studying at UG, International students among them.

The University of Georgia is one of the few research oriented universities in Georgia involved in Tempus, Erasmus Mundus and other educational programmes.

The UG celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2014. Throughout these years, the aim of the UG has always been to develop and accomplish high standards in terms of academics, as well as student life for the benefit of both Georgian and international students.

Today we take pride in the quality of our education, in our infrastructure and in general - our research and services.

Founded in 1918, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) is the first Georgian University and the first higher education institution in the South Caucasus. Considered as a “white temple of science and education” TSU has always played a crucial role in the life of Georgian society.

Khazar University, established in 1991, is the first private higher education institution in Azerbaijan. It was also the first university in Azerbaijan to break out of the Soviet educational mold and to apply a credit-based model (similar to North American universities) where the main language of instruction is English. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Khazar has 4 schools with more than 2000 students and 150 academic staff.

Professors of Khazar University have earned recognition for their leadership in their professional fields or are business leaders, artists and lawyers with strong national and international reputations. Khazar maintains a positive learning environment and friendly atmosphere. One-on-one contact with professors, personal attention to every student and quality of education are among its main characteristics.

The geography of Khazar’s international partnerships covers North America, Asia and Europe.  Strong international networking and academic relations have been developed under the framework of various international partnerships and/or development programs.
